Senior Club Champs will start Monday 2 January 2025 and all matches must be completed in time for finals day.
The cut-off date for entry into the senior club champs is Friday 6 December 2024. Draws will be published no later than 16 December 2024, and will include the dates in February and March 2025 each round of matches needs to be completed by. If matches are not completed by the cut off for each round, unless the club champs committee (CCC) has approved any extension, the player or team who has caused the delay (in the CCC’s sole discretion) will forfeit that match and the other team or player will move onto the next round.
Finals Day is Sunday 30th March 2025 for both Senior and Junior matches. Rain Day is scheduled for 13 April 2025. Please ensure you are available to play on both these days before entering. If you enter and it transpires you are unavailable, the player(s) in the most recent round that were beaten will take your place(s).
The match results will be regularly updated throughout the championship in the Club Champs 2025 section of the website. Please ensure that you Steve Parnell (021 929 303) after the completion of your match so that the results can be updated.
Courts I and 2 will be reserved for Club Champ competition play during Monday and Tuesday Club Nights from 20 January 2025 to 25 March 2025. Once the draw is available, please use the court Booking option to book your court.

All entrants must be fully paid members of Maraetai Tennis Club.
All entrants must be available to play on the designated final days pursuant to clause 3 above.
Games will be self-organised as per the draw.
If you do not arrive to start the game within 15 minutes of the agreed starting time (and without informing your opponent via text or phone call of your delay) your opponent may declare the game in their favour.
Once a doubles team has played their first game, the players cannot be substituted by other players (e.g. when one player is injured or can no longer commit to the finals day).
If a doubles team or singles player who won the previous round can no longer play in the next round for whatever reason (e.g. injury or other commitments), then the team or singles player they beat in the previous round have the option to progress to the next round.
Unsporting behaviour (unfair play) from players or their support persons will not be tolerated and you may be withdrawn from the championship, pending a decision from the Club Champs Committee. See Court Etiquette Rules on the Maraetai Tennis Website.
Club Championships Matches can be played Mondays & Tuesday (Court 1 & 2), Thursdays and Fridays after 7:30pm and Saturdays and Sundays (when courts are not booked out) during January to March 2025. Booking the courts for club champ matches are essential.
Games can be played on other Courts (than the Maraetai Tennis Courts) when mutually agreed by all players.
The Club Championship is a single elimination knockout tournament.
Categories for entry - Singles (Men’s and Ladies), Doubles (Men’s and Ladies) and Mixed Doubles
If there are less than two entries for a category, then there is no club champs competition for that category. No automatic winner for single entry categories.
Doubles partners can be replaced with a same grade or lower graded player (Tennis NZ Match Hub Grade) before the first game is played.
All matches are the best of three sets. If 1 set all then a super tie break will come into play (first to 10)
If a set reaches 6-6 score, a set tiebreaker is played (first to 7 points, with 2 points advantage).
If players are unsure if the ball was out, they must call it "in".
All doubles matches will play one standard deuce and thereafter, the no- advantage deuce (sudden death). Receivers choice for Doubles and Mixed - who and which side to receive.
Singles matches will play traditional deuce rules.
Finals matches will be passively umpired, players will make their own line calls but are able to consult umpire decision if no agreement can be reached between teams.
