Junior Interclub

Junior Interclub is split into two sessions over the season. Players can choose one session or both.

The Pre-Christmas Interclub competition follows Term 4, starting in October, and runs for 7-8 weeks.

The Post-Christmas Interclub competition follows Term 1, starting in February, and runs for 7-8 weeks. The Auckland Interclub competition offers a grade for all levels of play, from beginner grades through to the Junior Caro Bowl (the best juniors in Auckland).

Beginner Grades are played at 12:30 pm on a Saturday, based at the Auckland Netball Centre. Players can play in this grade for up to two sessions. This offers a fantastic entry level into club competition in a very non-competitive environment. Our match play for pre-interclub juniors helps the children prepare for their first few games of interclub.

Junior Open Grades are played at 8:30 am every Saturday at clubs all over the Auckland region. There are grades for all abilities; however, these follow tennis guidelines closer than the beginner grades. There will be a mix of home and away games. Teams are made up of 4 to 5 players. Teams play 4 singles and 2 doubles matches. Age groups are based on the child's age as of the 30th of April of that season.

Only fully paid club members are eligible to compete in the interclub competition. Contact us at maraetai.tennis@gmail.com if your child is interested in participating in an interclub competition or if you are able to assist with the running of an interclub side. Important Dates

Team registration for the Pre-Christmas competition is due at the end of September.
Team registration for the Post-Christmas competition is due at the end of November.
Enrolment forms will be posted online in September.

Uniforms

Our interclub teams do have a interclub uniform, which is avaliable to purchase. it makes our Juniors look sharp and as a team on court.

Current Junior Interclub

Our Junior Interclub has been growing exponentially over the last five years, with more and more local children taking up the sport to play on a Saturday. Currently, Maraetai has six junior teams in the Auckland Interclub Competition for the 2023/2024 season. Final team numbers and ages will be determined upon receipt of registration, with the philsophy that there is a space for everyone.
