Facilities
Maraetai Tennis Club offers a well-equipped clubroom and four synthetic‑turf courts with floodlighting, providing members with the perfect environment for both day and night play. Located in Te Puru Park, our club enjoys stunning views across the park and Kelly's Cove Beach, with Waiheke Island in the distance.
Clubrooms
Our clubrooms are provided for everyone to enjoy, offering a comfortable space to relax and watch the on-court action. We encourage you to make yourself at home. Refreshments are available (donation required), and complimentary ice blocks are provided for the kids after their coaching sessions. Feel free to help yourself to tea and coffee. We also have a table tennis table for your entertainment. The clubroom features a noticeboard with current information, a stereo for your enjoyment, and an honours board celebrating our past champions.
Please enjoy the facilities, and we kindly ask that you respect the equipment and clean up after yourself.
The clubroom amenities include: an Honours Board; Noticeboard; Trophy Cabinet; Tea and Coffee Facilities; Fridge; Microwave; Oven; BBQ; Table Tennis; Stereo; Shower; two Toilets; Rebounder Net; two Mobile Junior "Grasshopper" Nets; Tennis Racquets; Tennis Balls; Couch and Chairs; Sun Umbrellas; and a First Aid Kit.
Note: When the clubrooms are closed, public toilets are available in the change rooms below Te Puru Community Centre, near the sports field. These facilities are open whenever the park gates are open.
Courts
Our four synthetic-turf courts offer a 16mm all-weather pile, providing an excellent playing surface even during light rain. The back courts were installed in March 2012, while the front courts were completed in August 2014.
All courts are equipped with floodlighting, and a coin-operated lighting system is available on the exterior wall of the clubrooms for after-hours play. The cost is $4 per hour ($2 coins only).
Volley Wall
In February 2014, the Maraetai Tennis Club, Pohutukawa Coast Netball Club, and Auckland Council jointly funded the construction of a volley wall. Located between the tennis and netball courts in Te Puru Park, the wall is available for public use.
