Senior Winter Interclub

A competitive tournament for adult players, running from early May through to late June or early July. Matches are held weekly on Sunday mornings at 10 am (a small number of Doubles and Mixed contests start at 1pm). Registration is due in Feburary every year.

Winter registrations for Senior Interclub are now closed (summer are still open). Note, registrants can indicate if wanting to play weekly or fortnightly, to be a Reserve Only member, and specify grades interested in.

There are three winter competition options: Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles. All are four-person teams playing weekly on Sundays at 10 am for either 6 or 7 weeks. A small number of Doubles and Mixed contests start at 1pm.

Singles

Four players per team (or five if using a specialist Doubles player)
Separate competitions for men and women
A fixture consists of 4 Singles matches and 2 Doubles matches, with a 10am start

Doubles

Four players per team
Separate competitions for men and women
A fixture consists of 4 Doubles matches – playing order: 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 1 & 3, 2 & 4
10 am start (1 pm start used where court availability is tight)

Mixed Doubles

Two men and two women per team
A contest consists of 2 Doubles and 2 Mixed Doubles matches
10 am start (1 pm start used where court availability is tight)

Match Format

All matches (including Singles) will be two tiebreak sets. If the score is one set all, a Super Tiebreak (first to 10 points with a two-point advantage) will be played to decide the winner.

Team Captains are responsible for arranging alternative dates if play is not possible or matches cannot be completed due to rain. The first two weekends of August may also be used for any rained-out contests. Tennis Auckland does not reschedule any contests.
